EPOCH – Excellence in Processing Open Heritage
A network of excellence in innovative ICT applications for cultural heritage institutions
The FP6-IST Network of Excellence EPOCH focused on improving the quality and effectiveness of the use of information and communication technology (ICT) for tangible cultural heritage such as monuments, archaeological sites and museum collections. Salzburg Research’s eCulture Group contributed to several of EPOCH’s activities such as monitoring the level of use of digital applications in the field of tangible heritage throughout Europe and establishing a Network of Expertise Centres. In particular, the eCulture Group had a leading role in the Network’s development of a common Research Agenda in cultural heritage ICT.
