Within the framework of the month of May, which was launched by the city of Salzburg, numerous organizations in and around the Science City Itzling open their doors to the public on 12 May 2017. Salzburg Research will also provide insights into exciting research projects.

Workshops for school classes are organized from 09:00 – 12:00.
In the time from 15:00 to 20:00, the doors of numerous organizations are open to the public.

Broadband for poorly served areas

Crisis suitable, mobile communication infrastructure for deployment organizations and international disaster relief: Salzburg Research enables stable, mobile broadband connection in poorly supplied areas.

Improve wireless transmission

Experience first-hand how wireless transmission (W-LAN, Bluetooth and Co.) works. Salzburg Research shows how you can influence and improve the signal strength yourself.

Become a StauFux and support traffic planning

With the new App from Salzburg Research, you will not only get the latest, minute-accurate traffic delays directly on your smartphone. They remain guaranteed anonymously and at the same time help also the Salzburg traffic planners.

Forward-looking sensors prevent interference

Thousands of small hydropower plants, wind turbines and photovoltaic plants produce autonomous vital energy. Smart sensors and the Internet of Things help to react to faults in the future as well as prevent maintenance and repair work.

Become creative during “making” yourself!

Active station especially for children and adolescents: creative and do-it-yourself, analogue and digital to try out and participate: go on a discovery tour with the screwdriver and explore the inner life of a computer, model your own artworks that are printed in 3D or tinker LEDs.

Workshop in the morning: 3D modelling and printing

Experience the benefits of a 3D printer. Experience how a three-dimensional work piece is created from the planning to the design on the computer to the actual expression. Find your own artworks and print them out in 3D!
