5th Annual Forum for the Internet of Things – Innovate with IoT
The 5th M2M/IoT Forum CE will be the center of IoT and M2M communication from 27th to 28th of March 2017 in Vienna. With 50 lecturers, 20 practical examples and participants from 20 countries, the M2M/IoT Forum CEE is the largest forum on this topic in Central Europe.

Visitors will be able to see how the Internet is used in almost every branch of the economy, creating new services, products, marketing opportunities and business models. In addition to well-known names such as Amazon, Uber and Tesla, companies such as Hagleitner, Andritz, Festo, Thyssenkrupp, EnBW, AtlanticGrupa, TeleBase, Red Bull Mediahouse, TTTech and Microtronics rely on intelligent networking. The topics of the conference range form Industrie 4.0, Blockchain over Warables to practical IoT applications. Current insights are provided by the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, the BMI Lab at the University of St. Gallen, the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences and Salzburg Research.

Digital transformation through industry 4.0? And new business models
Over the last few months, Salzburg Research has dealt intensively with the digital transformation through industry 4.0 in Austria. A total of 68 Austrian companies were interviewed by means of qualitative interviews.
The objectives of this current study on behalf of BMVIT are:
- Better understanding of digital transformation (“industry 4.0”) in Austria
- Aid for companies in decision-making through their I40 strategy
- Evidence-based support for policy choices
