The energy sector is changing: a higher share of renewable energy, more efficiency, a higher degree of decentralization, a new legal framework, ensuring the security of supply, etc. The information and communication technologies will help to meet these challenges.

Against this background, Salzburg Research has invited to a workshop . The aim was to discuss the particular challenges at the intersection of information and communication technologies ( ICT) and energy-related issues together with entrepreneurs , researchers and other stakeholders, and to sketch a picture for the future.
