Workshop: Wireless Narrow Band Technologies

On February 8, Salzburg Research hosted a workshop on „Wireless Narrowband Communication in the Context of the Internet of Things and Machine-to-Machine Communication“. Interested parties informed themselves about the current state of narrowband technologies and exchanged ideas with other participants in the workshop about possible fields of application.

Digital transformation is finding its way into almost all areas of life and industry. The development of the Internet of Things is the driving factor and will significantly influence the way of life and work in the coming years. Smaller, cheaper, and more powerful devices can capture data in virtually any location.

To harness this data, wireless machine-to-machine communication plays an important role. For example, different technologies are available with LoRa, NB-IoT and Sigfox. For interested entrepreneurs, administrations/authorities and other users there is a high need for information, which Salzburg Research addressed with the workshop.
