The e-economy is currently fighting on many fronts and has to reposition itself for the future. That is why the infrastructure service provider Salzburg AG has launched a multi-faceted innovation program. Salzburg AG’s first Innovation Summit took place on 20 October 2016 on the subject of “digitization”.

Winner of the Innovation Challenge

In the run-up to the Innovation Summit, Salzburg AG organized an Innovation Challenge. The aim was to develop new business models and to solve specific tasks in the area of “Smart Energy” creatively. Established know-how of the e-economy should thus be linked with creative ideas from young start-ups. Among the 25 submissions, two winners were awarded – one of them is the spin-out of Salzburg Research Forschungsgesellschaft:

• Integrated energy management system for heat and electricity from Peter Käfer as well as
• Smart Agents, a smart application that understands, classifies and answers customer requests, from Redlink
